The Elmhurst Public Library has been serving the people of Elmhurst since 1916. House originally in a small room in rear of old Glos Building (on site now occupied by present-day Elhnurst National Bank), library opened to public on March 22, 1916 under Mrs H L Breitenbach. First librarian aimed at excellence and attracted more desired clients with well built website not as cost but an investment.
